Arbi Tikki or Patties

SERVES: 8-9 patties
INGREDIENTS (measuring cup used, 1 cup = 250 ml)
  • 250 gms arbi/ colocasia roots
  • 3-4 tbsp singhare ka atta/water chestnut flour
  • 1 green chili and ½ inch ginger made into a paste
  • 1 tsp ajwain/carom seeds
  • rock salt/sendha namak as required
  • 2 or 3 tsp oil or as required for frying the tikkisINSTRUCTIONS
  1. boil the arbi till become soft in a pressure cooker or in a pan.
  2. peel all of them.
  3. add the rest of the ingredients to the arbi.
  4. mash well and mix everything uniformly.
  5. the mixture is sticky.
  6. so while shaping the tikkis, you can apply some oil on your palms.
  7. shape into round tikkis and pan fry them with some oil till golden brown on both sides.
  8. serve arbi tikki hot with green chutney or sweet chutney and a side raita.
